Therapy for Gaslighting + Narcissistic Abuse Recovery

If you’re reading this page, chances are you’ve spent a lot of time wondering whether the problem is really you.

You’ve replayed conversations.

Questioned your memory.

Second-guessed your instincts.

Wondered if you’re overreacting.

Wondered if you’re asking for too much.

Wondered if you’re the difficult one.

If you’ve spent months or years questioning your own judgment, there is probably a reason for that.

People don’t usually end up here because things are going well.

Gaslighting, coercive control, emotional manipulation, and narcissistic abuse can leave you anxious, hypervigilant, exhausted, and unsure of yourself.

This kind of harm is often difficult for other people to see.

Many of my clients appear successful, capable, and high-functioning while privately feeling confused, depleted, and disconnected from themselves.

One of the most painful parts of these relationships is that they teach you not to trust your own judgment.

Therapy can help you get your clarity back.

Your confidence back.

Your ability to trust yourself again.

Common signs of gaslighting and coercive control

You may recognize some of the following:

• You leave conversations feeling confused and unable to explain why

• You regularly question your memory, judgment, or perception

• You apologize constantly, even when you have done nothing wrong

• You feel emotionally on edge around a specific person

• You feel guilty or ashamed for having needs

• You find yourself thinking, “Maybe it’s me”

• You spend a great deal of time managing someone else’s emotions

• You no longer trust your instincts the way you once did

• You feel responsible for keeping the peace at all costs

• You feel trapped between what you know and what you’ve been told

What therapy can help with

Therapy is not about convincing you to label someone a narcissist.

It is about understanding patterns, rebuilding self-trust, and helping you make decisions from a place of clarity rather than fear.

Depending on your needs, we may work on:

• Rebuilding self-trust

• Boundary setting and follow-through

• Understanding trauma bonds

• Reducing hypervigilance and anxiety

• Processing grief and loss

• Learning to identify manipulation patterns earlier

• Strengthening identity after emotional erosion

• Building confidence in your decision-making

• Reconnecting with your values and priorities

A note about leaving. Or not leaving.

Some clients come to therapy unsure whether they want to leave.

Some are actively planning to leave.

Some have already left and are trying to rebuild their lives.

All of those places are valid.

My role is not to pressure you into a decision.

My role is to help you see clearly, understand your options, and make decisions based on self-respect, safety, and reality.

My style

I am warm, compassionate, and direct.

I will validate your pain.

I will also tell you the truth when I think something is important.

I believe therapy works best when compassion and accountability exist together.

I am not interested in shaming you.

I am interested in helping you trust yourself again.

You do not have to do this perfectly.

You do have to engage with the process.

Therapy with me is a good fit if:

• You want honesty, not fluff

• You’re tired of doubting yourself

• You’re willing to practice skills between sessions

• You want to rebuild confidence and self-trust

• You want support while leaving an unhealthy relationship

• You’re trying to heal after leaving one

• You want to understand patterns instead of repeating them

• You’ve read this far and you’re thinking, “Well damn. She’s got a point.”

Therapy with me may not be a good fit if:

• You want to stay in cycles of venting without change

• You are looking for a therapist who only tells you what you want to hear

• You are unwilling to do any work outside of session

• You want someone else to make your decisions for you
