Immigration matters are often stressful, overwhelming, and deeply personal.
Many people seeking immigration relief have survived trauma, persecution, violence, exploitation, family separation, discrimination, or years of living with uncertainty and fear.
Telling those stories can be difficult.
My role is to provide a professional, trauma-informed evaluation that documents the psychological impact of those experiences in a clear, thorough, and ethically sound report.
These evaluations are not advocacy pieces.
They are clinical evaluations designed to help decision-makers understand the human impact of what you have experienced.
Who immigration evaluations are for
Immigration mental health evaluations can be helpful for individuals seeking immigration relief who have experienced trauma, abuse, exploitation, persecution, hardship, or other significant life disruptions.
The purpose of an evaluation is to document the psychological effects of those experiences and how they affect your daily functioning, emotional well-being, relationships, and sense of safety.
I provide evaluations for a range of immigration-related cases, including:
• Asylum evaluations
• Extreme hardship waiver evaluations
• VAWA evaluations
• U Visa evaluations
• T Visa evaluations
If you are not sure what type of case you have, that is okay.
You are welcome to reach out, and we can determine whether an evaluation may be appropriate.
What to expect
Many people feel nervous before an immigration evaluation.
That is completely understandable.
You are not expected to have perfect memories.
You are not expected to tell your story in a particular way.
And you are not expected to relive every painful detail all at once.
The evaluation process is structured and conversational.
My goal is to gather the information needed for a thorough report while helping you feel as comfortable as possible throughout the process.
The process typically includes:
• One or more clinical interviews
• Review of available records and supporting documentation
• Assessment of psychological symptoms and functioning
• Preparation of a written evaluation report
• One follow-up call for client and/or attorney questions or clarification
Why these evaluations matter
Immigration cases often involve legal questions.
Mental health evaluations help address the human impact.
A strong evaluation can help explain:
• The psychological effects of trauma, persecution, abuse, or exploitation
• Symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, or other emotional concerns
• The impact of family separation
• Safety concerns and ongoing emotional distress
• The potential consequences of removal or denial of relief
Every case is different.
My role is to provide a careful, objective clinical assessment based on the information available.
Fee + Turnaround Time
My fee for immigration evaluations is $1,200.
This is a flat fee that includes the clinical interview process, report writing, and one follow-up consultation regarding the completed report.
Reports are typically completed within 10 business days after the interview process has been completed.
Expedited Evaluations
If you need a faster turnaround, expedited reports may be available.
The fee for expedited service is an additional $100 per business day.
Please contact me to discuss timelines and availability.
Important Notes
Immigration evaluations are separate from ongoing therapy services.
Although therapy may be recommended, the evaluation itself is not treatment.
I do not provide evaluations with predetermined outcomes.
My responsibility is to conduct an ethical clinical assessment and provide conclusions that are supported by the information available.
That commitment protects both the integrity of the evaluation process and the credibility of the report.
