You second-guess yourself constantly.
You replay what you said.
You worry about what people think.
You try to predict reactions before you even speak.
It feels easier to keep the peace, even when it costs you.
You often go along with what other people want, not because you agree, but because you’re tired.
Or unsure.
Or you don’t want to be “too much.”
You may be the person everyone relies on.
The person who shows up.
The person who gives.
The person who understands.
And yet somehow, your own needs keep ending up at the bottom of the list.
At some point, you start realizing something painful:
You have needs.
You have limits.
You deserve to matter too.
Therapy can help you build self-confidence, develop boundaries that actually hold, and stop organizing your life around other people’s comfort.
This didn’t come out of nowhere
Many people struggle with self-confidence and boundaries because they learned, often very early, that keeping other people happy felt safer than being fully themselves.
Maybe you grew up in a family where conflict wasn’t safe.
Maybe your feelings were minimized.
Maybe you were praised for being easy-going, helpful, responsible, or selfless.
Maybe you’ve spent years in relationships where your needs were dismissed, criticized, or treated as inconvenient.
Whatever the reason, these patterns usually start as survival strategies.
The problem is that survival strategies don’t always serve us forever.
Common signs self-confidence is struggling
• You fear conflict, confrontation, or disappointing people
• You worry about being judged, rejected, or misunderstood
• You minimize your needs or talk yourself out of them
• You feel guilty when you say no
• You don’t feel allowed to take up space
• You feel resentful but then blame yourself for it
• You isolate because it feels safer than being seen
• You constantly look to other people for reassurance before trusting yourself
• You know what everyone else wants but struggle to identify what you want
What therapy can help with
Therapy with me is not about turning you into a different person.
It’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that got trained to stay quiet, stay small, and stay agreeable.
In therapy, we may work on:
• Building self-trust and confidence
• Boundary setting and follow-through
• Communication skills and assertiveness
• Untangling people-pleasing and perfectionism
• Healing shame and internalized criticism
• Recognizing emotional manipulation and pressure tactics
• Rebuilding identity and self-respect
• Learning how to tolerate other people’s disappointment without abandoning yourself
What boundaries actually are
A lot of people think boundaries are about controlling other people’s behavior.
They’re not.
Boundaries are about deciding what you will and will not participate in.
They’re about understanding your limits and acting accordingly.
Healthy boundaries do not require you to be harsh, cold, selfish, or uncaring.
They require clarity.
And sometimes clarity makes people uncomfortable.
Especially people who benefited from you having none.
My Style
I’m warm, supportive, and compassionate.
I’m also direct.
I will help you stop explaining yourself to people who are committed to misunderstanding you.
You do not have to become harsh.
You do have to become clear.
You do not need a better explanation for your boundary.
You need confidence in your right to have one.
Therapy with me is a good fit if…
• You are tired of second-guessing yourself
• You struggle with people-pleasing, perfectionism, or overfunctioning
• You feel responsible for other people’s emotions
• You want stronger boundaries without becoming someone you’re not
• You want to trust yourself more and overthink less
• You are ready to stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable
